About Us

Brown Auction was founded by John and Jerry Brown back in 1940! They  conducted the old fashioned farm sales back when they sold goats, chickens and the one-horse plow and wooden iceboxes were just going out of style. Depression glass was new,  and if you could find a bid - it probably just brought a quarter! The clerk was the local banker who cashiered out of his pocket and made loans on site with just a handshake. As you can see, we have been around a while - 81 years to be exact! Not many firms can claim this longevity, but those that can, have obviously treated both the buyer and seller fair. We have been given a great example of honesty and fairness and strive to continue that tradition today! After all is said and done, the only thing you can take with you is your reputation. It is our pleasure to do business with you! Brown Auction & Real Estate is physically located in Greensburg, Kansas. We are just 100 miles west of Wichita and only 35 miles east of Old Dodge City. Even though we are located in a remote area, we have stretched out and can service all your auction needs throughout the MidWest.
