About Us
Let us introduce you to the Brown Auction staff!

Scott Brown began helping his father with auctions around the age of 10. Running tickets, bringing drinks, holding items up for all to see ... then one day he 'yelped' and began catching the bids. After a few years he practiced his numbers and was
given the microphone and he has been selling ever since! Scott's father was killed in an automobile accident in 1976, but by then Scott had 'learned the ropes.'

Then there is Susan Brown. Susan does the identification, input, typing and assembly of our cataloged auctions. She is the office manager, secretary, and more than likely the person who answers the phone when you call. Susan is the
glue that holds the business together and is the mother/grandmother of most of the crew!

As we have said, Brown Auction is a family operation. Traci Gumpenberger, our oldest daughter, lives here locally on our original home farm. She and her husband, Brian, have helped with auctions for many years. They have two children who keep them busy - Ashlind & Atleigh. Traci has completed a master's of accountancy and works full-time for a local farm operation. Brian is a self-employed construction contractor.

Our other daughter, Lori Myers, and her husband Jon live in Pratt, Kansas. Lori recently completed an Ed.S. in school psychology. She works as a school psychologist - finally a 'real job!' They have two busy boys, Noah and Tayt. By the time he was 6 months old Noah was a seasoned auction goer, having slept through 9 sales in three states! He loves to help farm and is an experienced combine rider.

Then there is our son, Jamie Brown. Jamie is presently owner/operator of Advanced Musical Productions, a full-service dee-jay business. He has helped at the auctions all his 28 years. Those of you who have attended our auctions know that Jamie assists with the auctioneering duties.

Kristy Zenger, Talma Maris and Bob Schmidt round out the usual crew of suspects. Kristy joined us here in the office in 2007 & has been a very valuable asset to our operation. She wears many hats & wears them well. Talma & Bob have both been part of our business, helping for over 19 years with both local and regional auctions. They both have full time jobs and are not always available, but always help when they can ... a very important part of our organiziation.
